All about Quebec’s Skilled Worker Program

Quebec has its own extraordinary standards for selecting immigrants who will adapt well to life in the province.

The Quebec Skilled, Immigrant Worker program is an immigration program that does not require a specific employment proposal from a Canadian employer. Instead, the program selects permanent residency applicants who aim to live in Quebec and are likely to prove themselves financially settled there.

The Quebec Skilled Worker program has explicit qualification models dependent on the social uniqueness of Quebec. For example, candidates can include their spouse, common-law partner and any dependent children on their application – candidates should note that additional points are awarded to candidates with families (especially those with young children) under the Quebec Skilled Worker program.

Although the program has no official list of qualified occupations, you may need to research some of the occupations that are currently in high demand in Quebec. In the event that the measures established by the Quebec immigration authorities are met, the applicant will pay the bill for the program, regardless of their occupation or expertise.

Candidates who are successful in the Quebec Immigration selection system will receive a Quebec Selection Certificate, so overall they can apply for a Canadian permanent resident visa.

Skilled worker candidates should obtain enough points on the Quebec Immigration selection framework to meet all requirements for the Quebec Selection Certificate. A single candidate should score 49 points in each case depending on the rules and a candidate with a partner or partner accomplice should score 57 points in each case.

Quebec Skilled Workers candidates are not evaluated based on the selection factors of the Federal Skilled Workers Program.
